Job Summary/Basic Function:

The S-BYE Lab, part of the Center for Educational Equity, is seeking a Dewey Data Project (DDP) Research Assistant. The position will provide support for the DDP project through data collection and analysis, and requires a commitment of a minimum of 10 hours/week.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The DDP Pt Interim's primary responsibilities include performing website-scraping, data entry, data analysis and report writing. Other minor and major related responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Data collection and data entry
  • Quantitative and qualitative analysis of datasets
  • Producing brief reports and/or graphics of findings (appropriate for internal or external use)
  • Documenting project processes

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace or social media
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to complete assigned projects with minimal supervision
  • Strong computer, research, and presentation skills
  • Passion for understanding and improving the experiences of students in the American educational system

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in professional environments (especially in fields related to education and/or research)
  • Experience working on data-driven projects
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative data

Salary Range:

$18/hour
